1960 F1 Season Highlights
- 10 rounds, opening in Argentina and closing at Riverside, California. The Indianapolis 500 counted for drivers for the last time
- Jack Brabham wins his second straight World Championship (43 pts), with five wins in a row from Zandvoort to Porto
- Bruce McLaren P2 (34 pts), who won the Argentine opener, made it a Cooper one-two
- Stirling Moss P3 (19 pts). His Monaco win in Rob Walker's Lotus 18 was the first World Championship win for a Lotus. He missed two months after a crash in practice at Spa
- Cooper-Climax retain the Constructors' Cup (48 pts to Lotus's 34)
- The British teams boycotted the Italian GP over the Monza banking. Phil Hill won it for Ferrari, the last win for a front-engined car
- Chris Bristow and Alan Stacey were killed at Spa in the Belgian GP
- 8-6-4-3-2-1: sixth place scored for the first time and the fastest-lap point was dropped. Best six results count. The last year of the 2.5-litre formula
- No Sprint races, no fastest lap bonus point

Indianapolis 500 — drivers only:
The Indy 500 (round 3) counted towards the Drivers' Championship, so Jim Rathmann's win is in the drivers' standings, but not the Constructors' Cup, so its roadster teams score nothing in the team table. Its 33-car field is shown only as deep as the Grand Prix grid; nobody below the points finished high enough to score.
