How are F1 points calculated?

Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers: 1st gets 25 points, 2nd gets 18, 3rd gets 15, then 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 point for 10th. Sprint races award approximately 1/3 of regular points to the top 8.
